I have not produced an HDR photo for some time.  Maybe because there has been little sun.  This shot had 9 stops range in exposure.  After adjusting the exposure down 1.3 stops I combined 9 shots at 1 stop exposure difference between each shot.  Then I ran it through NIk’s color efex pro contrast filter.  What do you think?

Oldandabandoned

Nevada has a lot of space that looks similar.  What brings distinction is unique weather and unique features.  Tonight just as the sun was setting I found this old abandoned home.  With help from Nik’s Silver Efex Pro the photograph finished to my liking.

Too late to photograph tonight.   A little time in front of the MAC.  Sunday’s photograph, Topaz software and a little need for some “artsy fartsy” work.

Is there a better place to be before church on the Sabbath than among his creations?  And these are beauty’s!

I rarely see pic’s of a hummingbird at rest.  Most that I see are hovering at a flower.  So I guess this is my hummingbird “portrait”

Cablebrake

I grew up around heavy construction equipment.  My first opportunities to operate them came at a pretty young age.  I was cool.  How many 13 year olds run heavy equipment?  I did.  Way back then the equipment ran on cables and brakes.  Hydraulics’ was just getting started.  When I see one of the machines I will usually do more than a quick look.  Tonight I stopped at this old cable excavator.  It was the same manufacturer that Dad put me on in my early days.  The long handle in the photograph goes to a brake.  It brings back memories of long days pulling and releasing the lever.

Winter in Utah.  In South Davis County the Eagles return to feed at the Great Salt Lake.  Every year for as long as I can remember they stop on their trek and stay for about a month.  A photographers dream to have this beautiful bird in your back yard.  Less than 2 miles from my home.  This particular Eagle is still “aging”.  The not quit all white head and tail feathers give away his youthful age.  It was my opportunity to admire and photograph this majestic bird tonight.

I’ve learned to always look around me while photographing.  This scene appeared when I was at the bird refuge.  I am fortunate to live where so many opportunities are there for me.
