Oh, beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

God shed his grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea.

2. Oh, beautiful for pilgrim feet,

Whose stern, impassioned stress

A thoroughfare of freedom beat

Across the wilderness!

God mend thine ev’ry flaw,

Confirm thy soul in self-control,

Thy liberty in law.

In liberating strife,

Who more than self their country loved,

And mercy more than life!

And ev’ry gain divine.

That sees beyond the years

Undimmed by human tears!

I about crashed when I saw this flag on the side of a house at the front door.  This really bothered me!  The flag deserves better.  But is this a replication of how are country “feels” right now?  I have hope that the problems plaguing the United state of America will get a new and fresh look after the 2016 elections.   If the candidate that wins has core values similar to that of those that founded this country will feel better!
